We at Hanson’s Bar were disappointed to learn that Cardinal Malort was not elected to the office of Pope this time around, despite our outreach to the Vatican in the form of a custom dice cup, some stickers, and a t-shirt. We cherished our time with him at Center Fest last year, and marveled at what seemed to be divine intervention when shaking dice for rounds. Sadly for His Exculpatory, no amount of prayer could land him a winning square playing Chicken Shit Bingo, and he left a chicken shit loser. We hope to see Cardinal Malort - and everyone - again at Center Fest IX, August 9, 2025
Unforgettable experience, highly recommended! We will definitely do this again!

Center Fest is a free festival for all to ‘get centered’, and it’s held at the oldest bar in North Dakota! In our 9th year and going strong, it’s a gathering of folks who dig live music, comedians, and unique activities such as Chicken Shit Bingo, fire twirlers, a Surstromming eating contest, and whatever else we can think of! Most folks bring an RV or just toss a tent (both free). Bring some food if you want, or there’s a cafe in town, and some years a food truck shows up. In the past we’ve had bands from Minneapolis, St. Paul, Fargo, Mandan, and Phoenix, and folks have traveled from all over, some as far away as NY and CA!
